Talk to Me: Browns Focus Launches a Pop-up Shop for London Fashion Week

London boutique Browns Focus is taking a nostalgic sojourn to the nineties, when T-shirts were stretched to giant sizes and emblazoned with rap star imagery and antipolitical statements, by setting up a pop-up filled with kitsch slogan apparel for the capital?s Fashion Week?only this time, the look is far chicer. Starting today, Brian Lichtenberg?s Homi?s hoodie, spelled out in Herm?s characters, and F?line sweater, reminiscent of the C?line font, hang side by side with Les Plus Dor?s?s football tops where Owens and Tisci are stamped above squad numbers. For something a little more fanciful, and as yet undocumented on the street-style set, there?s an artisanal collection of T-shirts by new line Cats Brothers. Created by knitwear-trained design duo Anna Wilkinson and Lindsay McKean, the brand features embroidered Mexican Day of the Dead neon-hued symbolism alongside photographs of bygone rap stars like N.W.A. and Beastie Boys. And with silent statements stamped on tees at 3.1 Phillip Lim (where floral lettering spelled out ?NEW YOR KCITY? and ?GE TITG IRL?) and Acne Studios (?Music? or ?New?) for spring, the witty, playful look is sure to last you long after the week is out.
