Thorntons has listed its Continental chocolates were previously only sold it its own brand stores?into Tesco.
The boxed chocolates Advent calendar and chocolate tress products will be exclusive to Tesco stores this Christmas but next Spring, distribution to other retailers is planned.
The listing is part of the multi-channel strategy it has worked on since 2011.
In October this year Thorntons unveiled a 7 per cent drop in sales from its own shops in the three months to 6 October.
Supermarket sales were up by 9.8 per cent.
